Darkmatter Darknet is a decentralized, wallet-less commerce platform engineered specifically for the Tor network. It serves as a resilient marketplace that enforces anonymity through cryptographic standards. Unlike legacy markets, Darkmatter operates a distributed backend to mitigate localized failures and prevent external traffic analysis.

Registration is completely anonymous; no email or PII is collected. Upon creation, you must define a 6-digit PIN for withdrawals. You will also be issued a 12-word mnemonic seed. This seed is the only way to recover a lost account. Store it offline immediately. Support cannot reset passwords for users who lose their mnemonic seed.

Every login page contains a unique message signed with the Darkmatter Official PGP Key (Fingerprint: 8F41 9D32...). You must import our public key into your PGP client (e.g., Kleopatra, GPG) and verify this signature before entering credentials. If the signature is invalid, you are on a phishing site. Terminate the connection immediately.

PGP Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) ensures that even if your password is stolen, your account remains secure. During login, the server presents a message encrypted with your public key. You must decrypt it to reveal a verification code. This is mandatory for all Vendor accounts and strongly recommended for Buyer accounts.

All shipping information MUST be encrypted with the vendor's PGP key before submission. Darkmatter enforces "Auto-Encrypt" as a failsafe, but client-side encryption is the only way to ensure the server never sees plaintext addresses. Shipping data is automatically purged from our databases 14 days after order finalization.

Darkmatter strictly utilizes Monero due to its mandatory privacy features: Ring Signatures (obfuscates sender), Stealth Addresses (obfuscates receiver), and RingCT (hides transaction amounts). Transparent ledgers like Bitcoin are susceptible to Chainalysis and taint tracking, posing an unacceptable risk to our users' anonymity.

Funds are held in a secure, time-locked multisig wallet upon purchase. The vendor is notified to ship but does not receive funds until the buyer confirms delivery ("Finalize") or the auto-finalization timer expires (14 days physical / 48 hours digital). Buyers can extend the timer or initiate a dispute if goods are not received, freezing the funds for moderator review.

Darkmatter does not charge deposit fees. Withdrawals are subject to a nominal network mining fee (dynamic based on Monero network congestion) + a flat 1% platform withdrawal fee. Deposits require 10 confirmations (~20 minutes) on the blockchain before being credited to your balance.

Vendor applications undergo a rigorous vetting process. Requirements include: PGP Key validation, proof of established reputation on other markets (Recon/Dread verification), and a non-refundable vendor bond of 500 XMR. This high entry threshold filters out low-quality sellers and reduces exit scam risks, ensuring a professional trading environment.

Darkmatter employs AI-assisted moderation to categorize disputes. Moderators review encrypted logs, shipment proof, and vendor history. Decisions are binding. Buyers must clearly communicate issues before the auto-finalize timer expires. Neglecting to extend the escrow timer during a delay will result in funds being released to the vendor.

Tor network congestion or DDoS attacks can cause temporary unreachability. If the primary link (kb3qxip...) is down, attempt to connect via the alternative mirrors listed on our status page. We rotate mirrors frequently to mitigate attacks. Always ensure the new mirror is signed by our official PGP key before logging in.

Authenticated users can open tickets directly from the dashboard. For login issues, a limited support channel is available on the landing page. Do not include sensitive details (addresses, tracking numbers) in the initial ticket subject. Support staff will never ask for your password, PIN, or private keys. Response time averages 12-24 hours.
